Dreamchaser's Tour - Moon Valley Country Club

This week Tim played in the Dreamchaser's Tour event at Moon Valley Country Club in Phoenix, AZ.  The playing field consisted of 46 players for the 3 day event.  Tim played well  shooting scores of 72-64-72.  He finished in 11th place for the week. 


His next event will be on January 10th-13th for PGA Latin America Tour Qualifying in Seabring, Florida.

Dreamchaser's Tour - Longbow Golf Club

This week Tim played in a Dreamchaser's Tour event at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, AZ.  The playing field consisted of 26 players.  Tim played well, finishing in 5th with a score of -6 for the week. 

This event started on Sunday so I was able to go along to watch and take some photos.  As you can see, the Arizona winter weather is here and that requires a few more layers in the early morning hours.

Tim's next event will be December 14-16 at Moon Valley Golf Club.

 

 

 

 

Dreamchaser's Tour - Ocotillo Golf Club

This week Tim played a Dreamchaser's Tour event at Ocotillo Golf Club in Ocotillo, AZ.  The playing field consisted of 21 golfers for the 3-day event.  He finished with final score of -2, T8.

Tim's next events will be the week of November 27th in the local Phoenix area.

First Stage Web.com Tour Qualifying 2016 - Final Round

Tim finished the four day First Stage qualifying event with a final score of +2.  Unfortunately he did not qualify for Second Stage Web.com Tour qualifying.  Tim would like to thank Mark Baker for carrying his bag this week.

First Stage Web.com Tour Qualifying 2016 - Day 1

Tuesday was the first round of First Stage Web.com Tour Qualifying at Southern Dunes Country Club in Maricopa, AZ.  Tim played well finishing day 1 at -5.  This is a four day event.  Follow here to see his results throughout the week.  Results

Dreamchaser's Tour - Legacy Golf Club

This week Tim played a Dreamchaser's Tour event at Legacy Golf Club in Phoenix, AZ.  The playing field consisted of 20 golfers for the 3-day event.  He finished with an overall score of -11, finishing second.

Dreamchaser's Tour - Southern Dunes

This week Tim played in a Dreamchaser's Tour 3-day event at Southern Dunes Country Club in Maricopa, AZ   The playing field consisted of 28 golfers.  Tim's score was +3  overall. 

Next week Tim will be playing in another DreamChaser's Tour event at Legacy Golf Club.  He will continue to prepare for Web.Com Tour Qualifying 1st stage.  He received his first choice for 1st stage, Southern Dunes, which will take place October 4th-7th.  

2016 High Country Charity Golf Outing

On Saturday August 20th we participated in the 6th Annual High Country Charity Golf Outing benefiting the Military Order of the Purple Hearts - Flagstaff, AZ Chapter.   

The event was held at Pinewood Country Club in Munds Park, AZ.  A summer storm rolled in just before the start of the tournament.  The rain and lightning hung around long enough to cancel the golf.   Despite the rainy weather, they still raised over $70,000 for the Military Order of the Purple Hearts - Flagstaff, AZ Chapter! We were so glad to be part of this great event to help support the local veterans in Flagstaff.

The weather did clear up to allow just enough time to play nine holes for those dedicated golfers who held out through the rain. Yes, that included Tim and I, along with our good friends Dan and Cindy Smith.  It was a great round of golf while we enjoyed the cooler weather.

PGA Tour Traveler's Championship Pre-Qualifier

On Wednesday July 27th, Tim played in the PGA Tour Traveler's Championship Pre-Qualifier at Ellington Ridge Country Club.  The playing field consisted of 179 players with the top 40 moving on to the Monday Qualifier.  Tim shot 72, even par, and missed advancing by one shot.

Tim would like to thank Todd and Jessie Mckittrick and their son William for the great hospitality and use of a car.

Tim will be practicing at Manchester Country Club the rest of the week.  Then he'll be heading back to Arizona and I'll be glad to see his pretty face!  The next event on his schedule is the High Country Charity Golf Outing on August 20th.

Final Round - Cedar Rapids Open

On Saturday Tim played the final round of the Cedar Rapids Open.  He shot 68 to move up into a tie for 27th.  He finished 6 under par for the week.

Next Tim's off to Ellington, CT to play in the PGA Tour Traveler's Championship Qualifier on Wednesday July 27th.

Cedar Rapids Open - Day 1 & 2

This week Tim started the Cedar Rapids Open at Hunters Ridge.  The Pro/Am scheduled for Tuesday was canceled due to bad weather.  The weather then turned to hot and humid conditions for the rest of the week.  Luckily this event has local high school golfers available for caddies in the tournament.

Tim shot 73 in the first round followed by 69 in the second.  He made the cut on the number for the third day at -2, T47.  He will give it his best to shoot a low number on Saturday and move up the leaderboard.

Day 2 - Waterloo Open

On Saturday Tim played his second round at the Waterloo Open.  He played well shooting a 66 to move up the leader board but did not qualify for the final round by one shot.

Tim would like to send a big thank you to Don & Gayle Denkinger for the great hospitality this past week.

His next event is the Cedar Rapids Open Pro/Am tournament on Tuesday July 19th and then the Cedar Rapids Open starting on Thursday July 21st.

Web.com Lincoln Financial Monday Qualifier

The first event on Tim's summer schedule was the Web.com Lincoln Financial Monday Qualifier.  He played in that event on Monday at the Sunset Hills Country Club in Edwardsville, IL.  He did not qualify with a final score of 74.  

Tim will be out on the road this month traveling between Illinois, Iowa and Connecticut.  His next stop is the Waterloo Open in Waterloo, IA starting on Friday July 15th.

PGA Tour - AT&T Byron Nelson Pre-Qualifier

On Wednesday May 11th, Tim played in the PGA Tour AT&T Byron Nelson Pre-Qualifier.  It took place at Gentle Creek Country Club in Prosper, TX.  It was a good round of golf with Tim shooting a 71, 1 under par. They took the top 12 to qualify to the next round and he finished T13.  He was in good standing until the last group of scores came in, bumping him out of qualifying by only one stroke.

US Open Local Qualifier at Hurricane Creek Country Club

On Monday May 9th, Tim played in the U.S. Open Local Qualifier at Hurricane Creek Country Club in Anna, TX.  He shot 75 and missed the cut to move onto Sectionals.

He will be in Dallas this week to play in the PGA Tour AT&T Byron Nelson Pre-Qualifier on Wednesday at Gentle Creek Country Club in Prosper, TX.

PGA Canada Tour Qualifying - Day 4

Round 4 - On Tim's last round of the PGA Canada Tour Qualifying he shot 8 over par. He did not qualify for the PGA Canada Tour placing T68.  This was not one of his best rounds but he will take his experience to help him grow as a professional golfer.

Round 3 - The morning wave of golfers were faced with cool and misty weather.  By the time Tim started with the second wave of golfers, the weather had calmed down and it turned into beautiful playing conditions.  Tim shot 71 and moved up the leader board to T40.  On Friday, his tee time is 12:09 pm.  He try to continue to climb into good position to finish the tournament. Here's a breakdown of qualifying for the PGA Canada Tour:

• The medalist (1st place) will earn exempt status on the PGA Tour Canada for 2016.  
• Those who finish 2-16th earn conditional status which means they will be exempt through the first six events and then are subject to a re-shuffle.
• Those who finish 18 to 40 (plus ties) earn conditional status.  

The PGA Tour Canada has a total of 12 events starting in May and continuing through September.

PGA Canada Tour Qualifying - Day 2

Round 2 -  Tim started his second round on the 10th hole. He finished with an 80 moving down the leaderboard to T65.  He has two rounds left to aim low and move back up the leaderboard.  Tim has a tee time at 11:35 am on Wednesday for Round 3.

PGA Canada Tour Qualifying - Day 1

This week Tim is out in Santee, CA for the PGA Canada Tour Qualifying at Carlton Oaks Country Club.  On Tuesday, Tim started his first round of the week with an afternoon tee time.  He finished with a score of 72, par.  He is currently at T19 with the playing field of 132 golfers.  He tees off on Wednesday at 7:44 am Pacific Time.

PGA Tour Valero Texas Open Pre-Qualifier

Tim played in the PGA Tour Valero Texas Open Pre-Qualifier on Thursday at the Club at Comanche Trace. It was a full playing field taking the top 21 scores plus ties.  It took 70 to advance. Tim shot a 74 and did not advance to the Monday qualifier.

Tim sends a special thanks to friends Larry & Linda Betts for the great hospitality this week despite the crazy hail storm that went through San Antonio.

There was golf ball size hail that caused damage throughout their community, including Tim's rental car.  Thank goodness no one was injured.  

Tim's next event is the PGA Canada Tour Qualifier in San Diego starting on April 26th.

Over the last few weeks Tim has been practicing and preparing for the PGA Tour Valero Texas Open Pre-Qualifier.  He will be playing on Thursday April 14th at The Club at Comanche Trace in San Antonio, TX.

This photo above is Tim working with his golf coach Tim Mahoney and Trackman.  And me not knowing the all the proper things in golf, I had to ask if he was holding a club in this shot.  Tim explained that he he is, which means that his position is in the right plane mid swing.  This is just what he needs coming into the tournament this week.

I even played my first round of golf with Tim at Alta Mesa Golf Club last month.

I think Tim has more fun when I golf with him...or maybe this is his reaction to my golf game...!

PGA Tour Valspar Pre-qualifier

Today Tim played in the PGA Tour Valspar Pre-qualifier at Southern Hills Plantation in Brooksville, FL.  It was a full playing field taking the top 12 scores plus ties.  It took 70 to advance. Tim shot a 74 and did not advance to the Monday qualifier.

Tim sends a special thanks to his sister and brother-in-law for hosting this week.  And especially Tim's nephew for letting Uncle Tim sleep in his bed all week!

Back on Track

Tim has been working through a pulled rib muscle over the last 4 weeks.  This caused him to withdraw from the PGA Phoenix Open Pre-qualifier last month.  After some needed rest, he's back on track to feeling healthy again.

His next event will be in Florida for the PGA Tour Valspar Pre-qualifier on Thursday March 3rd.  He's also signed up for the PGA Canada Tour Qualifying tournament at Carlton Oaks Country Club in San Diego, CA April 26-29th.

The Beginning of the 2016 Golf Season

Happy new year to all!  We are excited for the 2016 golf season to get started in the next few weeks.  Tim has been preparing mentally and physically by practicing with his swing coach, Tim Mahoney.  He has also been dedicated to working out twice a day with his trainer, Mike Branson at Cor Clinic to build up his endurance and strength for his performance on the golf course.

Tim also mixed in a little fun and relaxation by being a model at a photo shoot to promote MySwing Professional, which is a device that tracks and visualizes the movement of your golf swing.  I didn't think I'd ever be married to a model... :)

His first event will be the Pre-Qualifier for the PGA Phoenix Open on January 28th.  We will add more dates to the 2016 schedule as we finalize the events Tim will play.
